Classes

A.C.E. (Pilates)

A.C.E. (Alignment, Control, Exercise) is based on our three practice principles; alignment, biomechanics, control and coordination. We use these principles to create an individualised exercise class tailored to your body's needs.

GLA:D®

GLA:D® or Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark, is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms. Learn more.

Pre- and post- natal exercises

Our specifically designed exercise classes ensure that you exercise safely and effectively though all stages of the pregnancy and post-partum period. All classes are physiotherapist led and incorporate strength , flexibility, fitness and postural education to help you enjoy this amazing time of your life while still enjoying exercise.

Pelvic pain clinic

The human pelvis is an amazing structure. It is the critical link between the trunk and the legs, and it needs to effectively transfer the forces from the side of the body (hip) to the centre of the body (spine). Dysfunction of the biomechanics of the pelvis can lead to Sacro-iliac joint pain, pelvis pain, lumbar pain, pregnancy pelvic girdle pain, osteitis pubis, heavy/tired legs and poor performance. At Aligned Therapies, we will treat your Pelvic Pain with physiotherapy and osteopathic techniques, strengthen your ‘core’ muscles including pelvic floor and transverse abdominus and educate you on how to control your pelvis for peak performance.

RAPC & Massage

Rib associated pain clinic

Aligned Therapies has a special interest in rib-associated pain and find that restricted movement and function in the rib cage can be a common cause of pain. Sometimes rib pain is hard to describe because there is not a specific place that it occurs. Pain can be arising from the many joints, muscles, and cartilage around the rib cage. People may experience a sharp stabbing pain associated with taking a deep breath or with twisting, lifting, or pushing. Or it may be a more diffuse ache or burning pain under the shoulder blade or chest. Costochondritis (inflammation of the joints and cartilage where the ribs attach to the sternum at the front of the body), thoracic outlet syndrome, intercostal muscle spasm and rib pain in pregnancy are actively treated with Physiotherapy and Osteopathic manual therapies.

Massage

At Aligned Therapies,  Massage Therapy is performed by a qualified and registered therapist. Patients may be able to claim a rebate through their private health insurance.

Massage involves using different pressures, movements and techniques to manipulate muscles and other soft tissues in the body. Massage therapy can be used to provide relief from pain, release stress and tension, heal injuries and support wellness. Patients may see improvements in posture, sleep, mood and energy levels.
