How do I book an appointment?Visit our Aligned Therapies online booking platform by clicking here. Alternatively, call our friendly reception team on 9882 1182.

What do I need to bring?Any relevant information about your condition will help our therapists make an informed assessment. If possible, please bring along any X-rays, scans, test results or GP referral letters.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?No, you do not need a referral if you are attending the clinic as a private patient. If you are attending as an EPC patient, or have been referred by a GP or specialist, then please bring along their referral letter.

How long is a consultation?At Aligned Therapies we have three types of consultations. An initial consultation (1 hour), a follow up consultation (30 minutes) and a long follow up consultation (1 hour). Please refer to our online booking platform for more details.

Am I required to arrive early for my first appointment?Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment as you will need to fill out your new patient form.

What is the cost of physiotherapy and/or osteopathy?Our therapists' fees reflect their years of education and experience. The price varies between each therapist, so please refer to our online booking platform for more information.

Do you treat Work Cover, Veteran Affairs and TAC patients?At Aligned Therapies we welcome Work Cover, Veteran Affairs and TAC patients. Please let our reception team know of your intentions to claim. Bring along any documentation of your claim number, date of injury and any relevant employer or insurer details. TAC and Work Cover will cover a portion of the cost of treatment although please be aware that there is also an out of pocket cost associated for the patient.

Do you offer Massage Therapy and how do I book?At Aligned Therapies we offer sports and relaxation massage with a qualified therapist. Massage is used to relieve stress and alleviate musculoskeletal pain such as neck pain, back pain, headaches and sporting injuries. Please call our friendly reception team on 9882 1182 to book an appointment.

What if I I’m running late to my appointment or cannot make it?If you are running late please give us a call as soon as possible. This allows us to reschedule your appointment, or if possible, you can continue to come in. If you cannot make your appointment, we require a minimum of four hours notice as we may be able to give your appointment time to another client. If we do not receive sufficient notice you will be charged for the missed appointment. To remind you of your appointment we will send you an SMS and/or email the day before your appointment.

What are Aligned Therapies hours?Our clinic offers flexible hours with extended evening and Saturday hours. Monday 8:00am - 7:00pm Tuesday 8:00am - 7:00pm Wednesday 10:00am - 7:00pm Thursday 10:00am - 7:00pm Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm Saturday 8:00am - 2:00pm

Where is Aligned Therapies located and where can I park?Aligned Therapies is located at 82 Rathmines Road, Hawthorn East 3123, opposite Auburn Primary School. There is street parking available on Rathmines Road although please be mindful of school traffic and parking restrictions. We are also an easy walk from Auburn Train Station.

What should I wear?Generally, you should wear something loose fitting and comfortable as your therapist will most likely need to see the affected area to treat it effectively. Depending on the area being treating you may need to remove some articles of clothing. In this case you will be covered with a towel. We do have shorts available if your therapist needs to do work in the gym area. If you are uncomfortable by this, please mention this to your therapist.

What is the difference between the Physiotherapists and Osteopaths at Aligned Therapies?At Aligned Therapies our therapists follow the same pain to performance journey for each patient. The biggest difference is surrounding your private health extras if you have cover for physiotherapy or osteopathy and not the other. If you have any questions, please call our receptionist team on 9882 1182.

What is your cancellation policy?At Aligned Therapies we require at least 4 hours notice for nonattendance or cancellation. A full appointment fee will be charged for nonattendance or cancellation. To remind you of your appointment we will send you an SMS and/or email the day before your appointment. As compensable bodies do not pay for non-attendance this charge will also apply to Work Cover and TAC patients.

When should I see a Physiotherapist / Osteopath at Aligned Therapies?Physiotherapists and Osteopaths are all University trained to ensure your injury is thoroughly assessed and diagnosed. There are many circumstances that you should see a therapist for, some of the most common include: If you are experiencing pelvic or lower back pain. If you have sustained an injury, or experiencing muscle soreness or joint aches and pains If you are experiencing any pins, needles, numbness or muscle weakness If you would like to improve your sporting performance or would like advice on exercise, improving strength, fitness or flexibility If you are returning to work or sport following an injury or prolonged period of inactivity. If you need advice on injury prevention If you are experiencing headaches or migraines If you’ve recently had a baby or are pregnant and experiencing pain. If you have a respiratory condition or rib dysfunction This list is not extensive and if you have a question about a specific problem that’s not mentioned then you can speak to one of our therapists.

What if my condition changes over time?It is important to tell your therapist if your condition changes over time. This also includes if you have a new injury or there is a change in pain.

What is GLA:D and A.C.E and how can I book an appointment?GLA:D®, Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark program is an exercise and education program aimed at hip and knee osteoarthritis. The program is twice a week, for six weeks, of neuromuscular exercise to improve muscular control of your joints. You can read more about GLA:D here. A.C.E is our Alignment.Control.Exercise program. This involves a one-on-one assessment to determine your goals and go through a full body strength assessment. You then will have a personalised program designed or you and can either begin one-on-one classes or attend our group classes (no more than 3 individuals). Please ring our clinic on 9882 1182 where our receptionist team can help book you an appointment.

Do you accept EFTPOS?Yes, we have an EFTPOS facility. We also accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and cash. We support HICAPS.

Can I claim my treatment through private health insurance for Physiotherapy and/or Osteopathy?Yes - If you have an “extras” package with your private health insurance which covers physiotherapy and/or osteopathy. You can claim your private health rebate immediately when paying for your appointment. Each health fund and level of cover reimburses different amounts, so please contact your insurer directly to know your out-of-pocket costs.

Is Physiotherapy/Osteopathy covered by Medicare?Physiotherapy and Osteopathy are only covered by Medicare if you are eligible for an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan. EPC plans are only approved by your GP and involves 5 subsidised health professional sessions over a calendar year (resets January 1st). The Medicare rebate can be claimed on the day of the appointment. At Aligned Therapies you will pay for the full consultation fee on the day of your appointment. Please bring your Medicare card and an EFTPOS (cheque/savings) card. We are then able to reimburse the Medicare rebate directly into your bank account.
